Monster Hunter World Iceborn is bringing a ton of new things for us to explore. Capcom plans to release more information as time goes on. Some things I’m sure they will save for us to discover on our own. With that said, lets take a look at 30 things and changes in Monster Hunter World Icebore that we’ve discovered so far.

New Base

Seliana is the new base coming in MHW Iceborne and will serve as the base of operations during the investigation of the Hoarfrost Reach. It will have a new chef, new facilities like the Steamworks and all of the facilities are closer together so that you don’t have to travel far to get to them.

New Training Area Features

In the training area you can now switch to a different trainning dummy. This training dummy resembles more of a monster and allows for practice with clutch claw and other things. You can also find many of the other slinger ammo laying around too.

To access, just speak with your housekeeper.

Easier Access to Housekeeper

Speaking of your housekeeper, it now has a window on the outside in the new base. This is so you can access things like your Tailraider Safari without going all the way inside your room and having to go through that load screen.

Easier Access to Changing Palico Equipment

Palico is stationed next to your equipment box in Saliana. Now you can change equipment and Palico equipment too.

Room Decor

In the base version we could add animals and things in our room but not the actual decor. If you look at the details for pre-ordering the digital deluxe addition it states that you can get one room decor. Therefore, there’s a good possibility that changing decor in your room may be a thing.

New Skills

A few of the old skills were updated with brand new skills. Skills like the aquatic mobility skill has the polar mobility added to it. With all the new features like the clutch claw coming in Iceborne, you can be sure that new skills will come as well.

Updated Skills

As mentioned above, some of the skills have been updated. New affects were added to some of the skills while others, like the Horn Maestro skill, has new levels.

New Level 4 Decorations

We were able to see new level 4 decoration slots on some of the mantles. We have yet to see any of these new decorations yet. They may be upgrades of previous decorations or new ones all together.

New Decorations

With the arrival of new skills and Level 4 decoration slots will come new decorations. We haven’t seen any of the actual decorations but expect them to be revealed.

New “Steamworks” Minigame

This is a new game where you spend fuel and in return get to participate in a mini game where you can gain items as a reward. You can get fuel though out the course of you going on quest and getting items. Once you deliver this fuel, you’ll have to put in inputs to fill a gauge and how well you put in these inputs will determine the type of rewards you get.

Gourmet Vouchers

These are making a return. In previous games it made all the ingredients fresh.

Dust of Life

This is basically a life powder that heals more.

Clutch Claw

New Hunting Horn Buffs

Some of the horns are getting Attack Up L which will mean Attack Up extra L buffs and are confirmed to have a 4th note and new buffs.

New View Mode

This mode will allow you to switch into camera mode and view your surroundings. You can take pictures, pose with your Palico or put on your ghillie mantle and sneak pictures of monsters.

New Gathering Hall

We haven’t seen this yet at this point but its supposed to be improved and more convenient.

New Difficulty Scaling

Thank god they added this. Before it was if even one person joined your quest it would jump up difficulty for 4 people. Now there is a difficulty for just 2 people, and then another for 3 or 4 people.

Best of all, if a player leaves the difficulty scales back down.

Drops Have Auras

This should make them easier to find.

Upgrade Tools and Mantles

Mantles and tools can be upgraded. For example the health booster can upgrade to health booster+ which will increase duration.

Mantles Have Decoration Slots

Mantles now have decoration slots. These decorations will only take effect when you are wearing that mantle.

New Monsters

Of course there are a lot of new monsters. For a complete monster list for Monster Hunter World Iceborne, check here.

New Armors

With new monsters, come new armors. For a list of new armors that we know of so far coming in Monster Hunter World Iceborne, check here.

Increased Defense on The New Armors

You will be able to upgrade the defense of the new armor coming in Iceborne pass current armor, making them obsolete.

New Weapons

Also, with new monster come new weapons.

You Can See Final Sharpness Now

The sharpness now shows weapon sharpness even if you dont have 5 levels of handicraft

Raider Rides

These will follow tracks and lead you to the monster. Its automated, so you cant control it but you can do other things like sharpen weapons while you ride.

New Weapon Attack Moves

Each weapon have a new attack move. You can view them all here.

New Palico Revive

When your health gets depleted, your Palico will revive you and keep you from getting carted. It’s the equivalent to having moxie. There is a timer on this so if you get revived and then hit again, you’re dead.

Master Rank

This will bring tougher monsters, new weapons and armor and new monsters. For more info, visit 4 Things You Should Know About Master Rank.

Change Equipment From character Select Screen

Yup. Before you even log into the game you can change your items and equipment. You can also join in games with your friends and change Palico gear too.

This probably make you more excited for the release on September 6th. Be sure to follow me on Twitter to get notified on any post that I make to stay up to date on information.
