Monster Hunter World Iceborne Release Date
First off, Monster Hunter World Iceborne release date is finally confirmed for PS4 and Xbox One on September 6, 2019.
Now on to the monsters. We have a ton of new monsters coming our way. We will see more subspecies, variant monsters and elder dragons along with all new monsters. Some of these are technically returning monsters, but they are new to Iceborne so Ill add them under the new monster category.
New MHW Monsters
Banbaro
Banbaro
This is a new monster to the Monster Hunter series. Its a brute monster and its attacks will be straight forward and linear but will have different affects depending on the area you are in. It’s ram attack will pick up trees or rocks which will make the attack wider or with more reach so look out for that.
Beotodus
Beotodus
This is a shark-like monster that likes to move in deep snow. It will submerge in the snow and attack from there. We will need to get him out the snow to attack him, which is where sonic bombs come in.
Nargacuga
Nargacuga Monster Hunter World
If you don’t know about Nargacuga, then you should know that Nargacuga is fast, cant be trapped with pitfall unless it’s in rage mode and is weak to sonic bombs… at lease, this all was the case in previous monster hunters. I expect it should be the same in world but we will see. They apparently added new tricks to him so look forward to that
Velkhana
Velkhana
Velkhana is a new elder dragon and the flagship monster for Iceborne. It is define by its use of ice attacks.
They say that it’s a mysterious ancient creature which doesn’t use linear straight-forward attacks. More is to be said on this monster at a later time.
Glavenus
Dinovaldo. Some of you may know it as Glavenus. It was one of the 4 flagship monsters in MHX who were representatives of the villages in previous games of the series. Glavenus is a Brute Wyvern who have a sharp tail that it can sharpen in its mouth. It can spit fire projectiles.

Coral Pukei-Pukei
Shoots a water jet from its tail
Ebony Odogaron
This guy uses dragon damaging attacks which strips away your elemental attacks.
Fulgur Anjanath
Unlike its original species, this guy uses the thunder element with its attacks.
Shrieking Legiana

Ruiner Nergigante
Not yet confirmed but found in the ps4 trophy list released for Monster Hunter World Iceborne
Brachydios
Explosive slime, lunge attacks, slime punches… this guy is not to be played with.
Zinogre
This guy is my favorite monster in the entire series. My life is complete. Watch out for his thunder charge attacks and acrobatics.
Master Rank in Monster Hunter World
Master Rank is finally confirmed and for those not familiar with master rank, its similar to what was called G-Rank in previous monster hunters where all monsters hit much harder and they usually release subspecies during this time.
In G-Rank we needed to start over and make entirely new sets of armor so I assume we will need to do the same in Master Rank.
This is because the monsters here hit really hard so don’t think master rank will only be slightly harder than High Rank. You may want to tackle the easier monster in master rank first to craft stronger armor, then tackle the harder monsters in Master Rank.
This may also mean that the armor the you get from fighting arch tempered monster wont save you as much. But its too early to determine that so we will see when Iceborne arrives.

But so far we know we will have a new adventure, new monsters, expanded combat and more! All coming to consoles on September 6th.
