Finally, the moment a lot of us probably have been waiting for. Ryu layered armor. This again have been confirmed by Hex, who has a perfect record of calling this stuff out.
The way to get this is by delivering Nergigante tickets to the Resource Center. And you will be able to get those by defeating Arch-Tempered Nergigante when he comes some time in Spring 2019. I speculate that Arch-Tempered Nergigante release date will probably be in April.
As far as how the fight with Arch-Tempered Nergigante will go, his dive bomb will probably be a one-shot regardless of armor. That and the fact that he has more health and hits harder. But this is just my guess, they could change his move set completely.
If you’re new to Monster Hunter World or just simply have not dabbled much into the layered armor world, then layered armor allows you to cover up those armor pieces with armor sets that look better. Which means you will keep all your perk combinations while keeping your hunter appealing to the eye. Layered armor is simply for aesthetic purposes and have no perks themselves.
