Good Resource Farming Spots in New World

In New World, not all resource farming spots are good to go to. When using online tools like New World Maps to find resources, you may pick a spot that has the most resources in that area. The problem is that other players are doing the same thing. So when you go to that area you’ll have a lot of competition for those resources. And players are pretty ruthless and do not like sharing.

I have found a few areas that I now always go to when I need a certain resource. And I’ll share them with you. Unfortunately, I don’t have a spot for every resource but I’ll list the resource and locations of the ones I do have below. If I find a good spot for any other resource, I’ll be sure to come back and update this post.

Iron Ore

Head to Everfall for this one and go to the right of it. Depending on your server, this may or may not be highly contested. If you’re on a new server or a fresh start server, this has a higher probability of being contested since most are leveling up their mining. The area around Windsward is good too.

Orichalcum

Now, this is one of my more secretive spots. This spot has a low competition level and it has been this way across the two servers that I’ve transferred to. There are spots that have more resources and you may think those are better, but they are highly contested.

This spot also has a lot of other resources too. You can farm Starmetal, Iron Ore, Ironwood, and Thick Hide in the surrounding areas. Head to Mourningdale. Most of the resources will be to the right.

Starmetal Ore

This area is a mix. On my server, there were times when there was a bit of competition. Then there were times when there wasn’t any competition.

Figure out your farming route. If there is competition, just try to out-rotate them. Typically, players don’t stick around for long. Head to the right of Brightwood Town.

Wyrdwood

Out of all the spots listed here, this is probably the most contested. But not to the point where you won’t get a chance to cut down some Wyrdwood tree. I like this area because not only does it have 2 different nearby spots where Wyrdwood trees are clumped together, but it also has Ironwood nearby.

While I’m waiting for the trees to respawn, I use the opportunity to get rawhide from the nearby wolves. There are also nodes of Orichalcum and Starmetal. Head to Brightwood and go south.

Ironwood

Two of the spots listed above are where I go to get Ironwood. South of Brightwood or to the right of Mourningdale. Simply toggle the Ironwood option in New World Maps and they will be nearby the area of the previous resources.

One last tip I’ll give you. It seems that if you go farming in the early hours of the morning, you’ll have even less competition.
