Get This Taraxippos God Roll Before Guardian Games End

Hopefully, you are reading this during the time Guardian Games is active. If so, grab this Taraxippos god roll before the event ends. If not, you’ve missed out on a gun with a rare perk combination.

This may be the only gun currently with this perk combination. I “briefly” scanned the weapon roster to see if there was another, but I didn’t see one. If you did not get this before the event ended, then hopefully Bungie will bring it back around or release another gun that is capable of having this perk combination.

What’s the god roll?

So what is the god roll? Gutshot Straight and Explosive Payload. Gutshot Straight increases the weapon’s damage while reducing its precision multiplier. Since Explosive Payload converts some of your critical damage to non-critical damage, your critical hits also receive a portion of the damage boost granted by Gutshot Straight.

Want to see for yourself? I did a test

During this test, I shot Ferkis here first with a Taraxippos with only Gutshot. Then with a Taraxippos with Explosive Payload. Lastly, I shot him with a Taraxippos that has both perks on.

I made sure my light level stayed the same. I also showed what the precision damage numbers looked like with all weapons except the one with just Gutshot. I found that the precision damage of the gun with only Gutshot was similar to a gun that didn’t have any of these perks.

So what does all this mean?

You may think that since this gun has Gutshot, you need to aim for the body. But that is incorrect. This perk combination ultimately increases precision damage.

So as with any gun, aim for the head (or weak spot). You’ll do more precision damage with this perk combination than with any gun with different perks. To simplify, this perk combo increases precision damage.

This works in The Crucible as well. My Taraxippos without these perks was doing 54 to the head. With this perk combination, I did a total of 58. As far as if this leads to a faster kill time, I can’t say. Players have different resilience levels so I would need someone to do a private match with me to see.
