Deep Stone Crypt Guide

Spoiler warning: This clip is from a section later in the raid.

Phase 1, Survive the Cold.

Defeat the enemies around the Crypt entrance and make your way inside. Your goal is to survive the cold and locate the Deep Stone Crypt.

Once in, use your sparrow and make your way forward. You will come across a dome-shaped barrier with pikes. This area is significant because that dome will give you a “shelter from the storm” buff. Those domes protect you from the frostbite you will get when outside of the dome.

You will have to make your way through the storm to locate the Deep Stone Crypt, moving from dome to dome as you progress forward to ward off the frostbite you receive from the storm. The longer you are out in the storm, the more stacks of frostbite you receive. Once you get 10 stacks of frostbite, you die. Take out any enemies you encounter along the way.

Once you get to the last dome location, there will be a door. Defeat the enemies and enter through the door. Progress forward and you will locate the Deep Stone Crypt.

Phase 2, Disable Crypt Security

Make your way to the room where you have to disable the security. This room is made up of an upper floor and lower floor. The upper floor is divided into two (light side, dark side).

The short version of what you must do here is that one person must go down into the bottom floor and shoot the security panels on the wall (10 total, 5 on each side of the room). The players at the top must tell the player at the bottom which ones to shoot using a scanner buff (from dreg) and looking down through the opening in the floor around the pillars (tubes).

Once that’s done, the players at the top must shoot the six cylinders in the middle of the room (3 on each side) but the bottom player must tell them which ones to shoot using the indicator above the terminal near the entranceway of the bottom floor. Once all 6 are destroyed, the phase is complete.

So let’s go more in-depth on the strategy here. The first thing you and your team must do is come up with a call-out system for the security panels on the bottom floor. The top room is divided into two (left and right) so divide the bottom floor the same way because there are 5 panels on each side of the bottom floor. There are a few ways you can go about doing this.

Strategy 1

Go to the bottom floor and locate each panel on the left side. Label them L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, starting from the panel that’s at the back of the room (furthest from the entrance) to the one that’s close to the entrance. Then go to the right side and do the same.

On the top floor, there will be two augmentation terminals (one on each side) and pillar tubes that will allow you to see through to the bottom floor on each side. From here you will be able to see the security panels on the walls.

Split your team in two for each side and decide who will be the scanners. These people will be the ones who will look down through the floor openings and tell the bottom person which panels to shoot. The panels can be identified by a yellow barrier around the panel.

To start the mission, go up to one of the augmentation terminals and use it. Whoever uses the terminal will be the operator. Only the operator can open the entrance to the bottom floor by shooting the security panels and only the operator can go down there.

Enemies will spawn. Search for the Hacker Vandal. He will give you a scanner (usually on the dark side). Once you get the scanner, go to the tube, look through the floor, and call out which security panels on that side has the yellow barrier around it. Once you call it out, the operator then goes and shoots them. There should be two per side.

Now go to the augmentation terminal and input the scanner into the terminal so the people on the other side can pick it up. The person on the other side will do the same thing with the scanner. The operator then goes down and shoot the panels on the other side.

The order doesn’t matter. Only shoot the ones that were identified by the people with the scanners. Once all the panels are shot, it’s time for the damage phase.

Strategy 2

Someone picks up the scanner, identifies where all the panels are (will need an operator to open the door to the other side), then verbally guide the operator to the correct security panel to shoot. Once all the panels are shot, the cylinders in the middle will open and it’s time for the damage phase.

Damage Phase

The operator will then insert his operator buff into the terminal and someone at the top needs to pick it up. Then whoever has the scanner at the top will insert it into the terminal so that the person at the bottom can pick it up and identify the lit fuses on top of the augmentation terminal. That lit fuse indicates which cylinder of the 6 in the middle of the room the team at the top need to shoot. Shoot the wrong one and it explodes.

There are 3 on each side of the bottom terminal. If you used the L1 and R1 system then you can use the same call-out system you did for the security panels. So that’s; L1, L2, L3. L1 being the furthest one from the entrance and L3 being the closes to the entrance. Do the same for the right side. If you wish, you and your team can come up with a different call-out system for this.

Destroy as many of the cylinders as you can before they close. If they do, then the person at the bottom needs to deliver the scanner back to the top, and the person at the top needs to deliver the operator buff back to the bottom.

The scanner will once again guide the operator like before until the cylinders open up again. Transfer the augments again, destroy the cylinders until there are none left.

Notes: Watch out for Sentinels and shanks. Sentinels will disrupt the augmentation terminals and shanks will rush in during the damage phase. If the operator dies, someone picks up the operator buff at the top and go down and be the new operator

Phase 3: Atraks-1, Fallen Exo

Remember the operator and scanner buff augmentations because you will need it throughout this raid.

Once you start, adds will spawn. Shortly after, pods will appear and will LAUNCH YOU INTO SPACE!!! You will need to split your team in half and send them off into space.

The short version of what you must do here is using the operator and scanner buffs to defeat the clones (scanner tells team which clone to shoot), pick up the replication (purple orb) once you defeat the correct clone, open the airlock using the operator buff, walk in the airlock with the purple orb so the operator can shoot it off you, walk out and allow the doors to close and launch it out in space. Damaging the correct clones is how you damage this boss.

Once you split your team up, you will need to kill the adds (especially the shanks). Once you do that, locate and kill the servitors. But first, find the vandals carrying the operator and scanner buffs. The vandal carrying the operator buff will be at the bottom and the one carrying the scanner buff will be at the top.

Destroy the Clones

Once all the servitors are destroyed, the boss clones will start glowing at the same time. This is a wipe mechanic. This means that you need to figure out which clone you need to damage in order to stop it from happening. Only the scanner can identify which one it is. You will see a clone with a yellow glow patchwork like the barrier you saw around the security panels in the previous phase.

The scanner needs to call it out for the team and the team needs to move over to that boss and damage it with enough damage to stop the wipe mechanic.

Yeet the clone into space

Once you do that, the clone will drop a replication orb (purple). Someone needs to pick it up and your team needs to move over to the augmentation terminals because whoever has the scanner buff needs to send it down to the bottom. The same thing that happened at the top will happen at the bottom (use scanner to stop wipe mechanic). Also, after the scanner buff is transferred, whoever has the operator buff has to transfer it up to the top.

Operator buff stays on top at this point so it no longer needs to be transferred to the bottom. Whoever has the Atraks-1 replication buff (purple orb) needs to follow the operator. The operator needs to open one of the airlocks that are on the outer walls of the area by shooting the security pad (or datapad). The door will open, the person with the purple orb will run inside. The operator will then shoot the purple orb off that person and that person will run back out. Once you do this, you will have completed one cycle at the top. The bottom people will have to do the same thing.

Note: The operator can also control the space pods. At some point, the operator needs to send two of the pods back down (3 at the bottom, one at the top) because the bottom team will need to all come up at the end for the last stand phase.

Now, as I mentioned, the people at the bottom will be doing the same thing. There are no airlocks on the bottom. That means someone has to pick up the replication and take a pod to the top. The operator will then tell them which door to go into, shoot it off him/her and that person will run out.

That person can stick around for a bit to do damage and clear adds, but will eventually need to go back down to the bottom. Step and repeat this process.

Last stand mechanic

Once you do this process enough times and get the boss down to low health, all of the clones will disappear. They will all then re-appear at the top and there will be none at the bottom. They will all be in the wipe animation.

The people at the bottom need to take pods to the top. You will have to move as a group here. Once at the top, the person with the scanner needs to identify to the team which clone is glowing yellow. The team will need to damage that clone. Once you destroy that clone, the scanner looks for the next clone. Then you and your team run over and destroy that clone. Keep doing this process. Once you destroy all the correct clones and do enough damage, the phase is complete!

A strategy you can do is to call out or just have the team follow the scanner.

Phase 4: Prevent Europa’s Destruction

Traverse your way through the jumping puzzle and to the next area. This area is almost like a sports arena. You’ll need to split into teams of two because there will be 3 buffs this time. An operator buff, a scanner buff, and a suppressor buff.

The short version of what you need to do here is to find nuclear cores and plant (or dunk) them into one of the ‘correct’ 4 nuclear core devices. You will need to do about 4 cycles of this.

At the start, kill the adds and watch out for the champions. Eventually adds will spawn with one of the 3 buffs. There needs to be a team of 2 for each augmentation. At the end of each cycle, someone’s buff will deactivate.

Once all the teams have their respective buffs, it’s show time.

Scanner

The scanner needs to call out which nuclear devices are the correct ones to dunk the nuclear cores. The devices are in the middle and two will be glowing yellow.

Operator

The operator needs to actually find the nuclear cores. Once you see text that says “several nuclear cores begin charging” at the bottom left hand of the screen, the operator needs to shoot the datapads at the nuclear core drop site. It can be identified by a red glow around the pad.

Someone will then need to pick up the cores. Once you pick up these cores, you will have reduced movement and start to take stacks of radiation. At 10 stacks you die, however, you can pass it on to a teammate and your radiation will decrease. You may not want to do this until the suppressor does their job.

Suppressor

The nuclear cores won’t be able to be dunked into the nuclear devices until the suppressor damage the boss. There will be 3 “floating balls, balloons (or whatever you want to call them) in the area. They will be glowing. The suppressor stands under the balls and shoots the boss until the ball stops glowing.

Then the suppressor moves to the next ball and does the same thing. Then the suppressor moves to the last ball and damages the boss until he becomes stunned (identified with electricity around him). Once the boss is stunned, the nuclear cores can be dunked into the devices that the scanner called out.

You will need to do this for about 4 cycles. Note that at the end of each cycle someone’s augment will be deactivated. You will see a prompt called “Deactivated Augment”. The person holding the buff needs to put it into one of the augmentation devices to allow the second person to pick it up. There’s a cool down so the person who just had it won’t be able to pick it up for a while.

Once you complete the cycles the floor in the middle will open up. You and your team will need to drop down and run to the end of the hallway. If you make it, that will be the end of the phase.

Final Phase: Taniks, The Abomination

The beginning of this phase is similar to the mechanics of the last phase so keep your teams. Someone’s augmentation will be deactivated and another person will need to pick it up.

The short version of what you need to do here is to destroy the 4 thrusters on the boss (2 at a time), dunk them into the nuclear devices that the scanner calls out. Then damage the boss until he’s dead.

Scanner

There will need to once again be a scanner, operator, and suppressor. There are devices around the area that the scanner and team need to identify. You will need to place nuclear cores into these devices. There are six in the area. The area can be divided into 3 areas (orange, blue, entrance). The scanner will need to call out which devices are glowing.

Then the boss will start raining down these purple beams; which I will refer to as purple rain for the rest of this post.

You need to avoid this attack. You and your team need to damage two of his thrusters to drop the nuclear cores. Two people need to pick up those cores and try to dunk them into the called out devices. But of course, Taniks isn’t gonna allow it.

Operator

The person carrying the core will get trapped in a purple sphere. This is where the operator comes in. He will need to shoot the person out of the sphere. The other teammates (who are not the operator or suppressor) need to be walking with the person carrying the core because you do get radiation from carrying it. Chances are the core will need to be passed to prevent the person from dying of radiation.

Suppressor

The suppressor will need to do the same thing as the last phase. Locate the floating balls, stand under them, and damage the boss to stun him. This will unlock the devices so the cores can be placed in them. Once the cores are placed, repeat the process for the back thrusters.

Once the four cores are planted, the damage phase begin.

Damage Phase

The boss will start to create a large electric field around it. There will be an outer circle of the field with flying debris. Avoid this, it will kill you. There will be a gap between the outer circle and inner circle. This is where you and your team will stand to damage the boss. Don’t stand in the inner circle. He will come down and push you and your team out the circle, just jump back in.

Once you get him to the last bit of his health, he will change strategies. He will start moving around the area. Longer ranged weapons will be more beneficial here since it will be harder to hit him at close range. Do enough damage and your raid is complete!
