6 Questions Answered About Starfield

Ever since that amazing Starfield Direct, many of you, like me, have been relentlessly scouring the internet and social platforms to get every tidbit of information on what could be Bethesda’s best game yet. While things have momentarily slowed down, August is just around the corner, and I anticipating a surge of updates as September draws near.

Until then, I thought now would be a good time to address some lingering questions that might still be floating in peoples’ minds about Starfield. In the end, I’ll even touch on speculations of what Starfield’s “end game” may be. With that said, let’s start off with a question I’m sure is in everyone’s mind, can we go to Earth?

Where is Earth?

Short answer, yes, we can go to Earth and Mars for that matter. But not only that, but we expect that Earth will be a part of the main story. At some point during the main story, the story behind Earth’s “demise” will be explained. It may be in ruin when we explore it.

My only question is, can we go to Jupiter? In the real world, Jupiter doesn’t have a solid surface to land on. It’s just mostly gasses with a liquid core. They would have to fabricate a surface of Jupiter or just allow us to probe and scan while in our ship.

Are planets fully “explorable”?

As I mentioned in a previous post, I want to be careful answering this one. Todd said that all planets can be explored. But that could mean you can go anywhere on a planet or you can go to any planet even though not every inch of the planet can be explored. My hope is that you can explore every inch of a planet.

Can you play Starfield earlier than September 6?

Maybe you didn’t have this question in mind but the answer is yes. If you order the Premium Edition, you can play 5 days early. However, you’ll pay $100 dollars.

How many hours of gameplay will you get out of Starfield?

Todd Howard mentioned that it should take 30 to 40 hours to complete just the main story. The side content, shipbuilding, and speculated endgame will run you well into the hundreds. It’s a bigger game than Skyrim and people are still playing that game to this day.

Will Starfield have an animated series?

Looks like this trend of having animation to go along with the game will continue with Starfield. They recently release 3 animated shorts to get us hyped for the release. It’s unclear if they will continue.

What are all the factions so far in Starfield?

So far the factions in Starfield are as follows:

  • Constellation
  • United Colonies
  • Freestar Collective
  • Ryujin Industries
  • Crimson Fleet

Each faction has its own ideologies. Bayliun on Youtube has created a cool video explaining each faction in depth.

Additional Info

Recently, a user on Reddit released an image depicting what our skill tree may look like in its entirety. Analysts suggest that, upon examining some of the skills, we may have the ability to initiate a settlement on an unclaimed planet. Certain skills enable us to establish defenses for protecting that settlement.

This may suggest that we will be able to start our own colony and spread our influence throughout the universe. This may be the “end game” of Starfield. As for now, this is complete speculation so take that with a grain of salt.

Starfield’s release date is September 6, 2023. I plan to have Starfield content when it releases. I am hoping you’ll consider subscribing as I would like to notify you when I release new posts!
