So here you are. You’ve reached max level, completed raids, finished the story bought the annual pass and have every exotic you ever wanted. Time to quit Destiny 2 right?

Not exactly. There are still plenty of things that you can do. Plenty of things to prepare for. Especially after hearing Bungie say that they really don’t want Destiny to be a box product that you think of as being on a disc. They want it to be a world that evolves and changes over time.

So, now that you have reached a point where you can relax and take things slowly, here are 6 endgame ideas for slow times in Destiny 2:

Build Armor Sets

This is currently something that I’m focusing on. I want to build armor sets for both PvP and PvE. You can build sets based on what type of weapon(s) you are using.

For example, in PvP I like to use the Blast Furnace pulse rifle. Therefore, I’ve built an armor set that benefits pulse rifle use.

Scatter Projectile Targeting (helmet): Improved target acquisition, accuarcy and aim-down-sighs speed for auto rifles, smgs, pulse rifles sidearms and fusion rifles.

Pulse Rifle Loader (gauntlets): Increases reload speed of pulse rifles.

Unflinching Pulse Rifle Aim (Chest Armor): Reduces flinching from incoming fire while aiming pulse rifles

Traction (Leg Armor): Grants increased mobility and tighter turn radius while sprinting.

I could also switch to Pulse Rifle Dexterity on these legs which gives me a faster ready and stow speed for pulse rifles but I like traction better. Traction gives me an increase in mobility on top of the increased mobility and turn radius while sprinting.

For my hunter cloak I just have Fusion rifle reserves which gives me more ammo for fusion rifles. I could get pulse rifle reserves but I don’t think its necessary.

So this is the armor set that I use when I use a pulse rifle in Crucible. All maxed out to the highest light level ready for when Iron Banner comes around.

I also wanted to pick armor that will give me the mobility resilience and recovery that I desired and I wanted armor pieces that looks good together.

I plan to build sets for other weapons that I like. I’m working on one for bows and another for hand cannons. I will eventually get to the rest of the weapons.

Grind for weapon and armor rolls

Of course, in order to build the sets you want and get the weapons you desire, you need to grind for those rolls. Especially on weapons. It took me quite a bit of time to get a roll on a Blast Furnace that I liked.

endgame destiny 2

I was able to get a Blast Furnace with Steady Rounds, Feeding Frenzy and Rampage with a stability masterwork. The only other roll I would want other than this one would be kill clip instead of rampage, but rampage is good too.

This thing shoots like a laser and hasn’t let me down yet. I equiped targeting adjuster because there are reports that counterbalance actually makes things worse on this particular gun. Now imagine having a gun like this with all the perks that my armor provides.

Legendary weapons aren’t the only random rolls you should be shooting for. Exotics can get random rolls as well. When Xur comes with exotics, check the rolls to see if its something that you’re interested in.

You can reclaim exotics but the rolls might not be what you want. Those rolls also don’t change. Rolls you get from random exotic drops are random so always check them.

Stack resource materials

Now would be a good time to load up on resource materals. Alkane dust, seraphite, simulation seeds, enhancement cores, pretty much any resource you will need to upgrade armor and weapons. More content is coming to Destiny 2 which means more weapons, armor and light increases.

Visit the spider and buy resources from him when you hit the glimmer cap. Maybe even pick up an enhancement core or two. You can stock up on legendary shards and enhancement cores by doing his wanted bounties. Dismantle any unwanted legendaries for the shards.

Load up on Mods

Of course you will need more of these to complete your sets. The gunsmith changes his inventory every day so be sure to check him out. If you need mod components, you can get them by dismantling legendaries from your collection, dismantling legendaries or buying them from Ada-1.

Collecting at lease one of each weapon and armor

At this time any weapon or armor that has random rolls on it cannot be reclaimed in the collections. When a new season comes these weapons/armor are usually gone forever unless they add a feature that will allow you to reclaim them. If they don’t then its best that you have at lease one in your vault in case you miss it during a new season.

I remember during my D1 days missing guns that would have dominated later on in the Crucible. Unfortunately I didn’t keep it so it was gone forever.

Pursue triumphs and collections

If you’re a completionist, then this would be a good time for you to go after these. There’s lore you can catch up on and emblems you can collect from doing these. If you haven’t complete seals you can do those for the player titles.

In your collections, you can pursue any things you don’t have. I still have a few shaders I need to go after.
