5 Reasons to Love the Taraxippos Scout Rifle in Destiny 2

Now that the Guardian Games are underway, you’ve likely been using the Taraxippos Scout Rifle to defeat opponents in the Crucible. In this post, I will give you 5 reasons why you should immediately lock this Scout Rifle and never delete it unless a better scout rifle comes along. Especially the one that has the perks from the first reason below.

It’s currently the only 200 RPM legendary scout rifle that can roll with Kill Clip and Zen Moment

Yep, there are no others. Bungie is known to make changes to the weapon sandbox, so while these archetypes perform well in the current sandbox, it’s possible that the meta could shift to 200 RPM scouts in the future. If that happens, you’ll be good to go.

It’s the only 200 RPM Omolon Scout Rifle

Aside from that fact, this means it’s the only 200 RPM legendary scout rifle that gets the Omolon origin trait. Omolon Fluid Dynamics gives you 20 Stability and 30 Reload Speed at the top 50 percent of the magazine. That will pair well with Zen Moment.

It’s Strand

It’s a solid choice for your kinetic slot, not only because it’s one of the few 200 RPM scouts available, but also because it’s currently the only Strand scout rifle, in addition to the benefits mentioned previously. This will serve you well not only in the Crucible but Nightfall and legendary Lost Sectors as well.

It has high Aim Assistance

This scout has a base of 75 Aim Assistance. That’s higher than the 67 on Hung Jury. Throw on a Targeting Adjuster to push it up to 80.

It has Classy Contender

The Taraxippos Scout Rifle is one of only two weapons in Destiny 2 that can roll with the Classy Contender origin trait. This trait grants you 5 percent class ability energy on each kill, making it an amazing source of free energy. As a perk, this wouldn’t be very good, but as an origin trait, free class ability energy on kills is amazing, especially in PvE.

Remember, this weapon is only available during Guardian Games. Therefore, get it while the event is here. If you’re reading this and Guardian Games is not active, you’ll have to wait for the event to roll around again and hope that this scout is available.
