If you’ve been playing Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer consistently then you’ve probably got your hands on several Chroma Rush auto rifles. Hopefully, you’ve been saving them. There’s a perk combination that’s really strong on this weapon in particular.
That perk combination is Subsistence and Rampage. Subsistence partially reloads the magazine from reserves when defeating targets. And you should be familiar with Rampage; Kills with this weapon temporarily grant increased damage. Stacks 3x. With this perk combination, you will find yourself squeezing the trigger, mowing down enemies, and not reloading as much.
Other weapons can get this perk combination. Why is it better on Chroma Rush?
First reason, It’s Kinetic.
Chroma Rush is the best kinetic weapon that can get this perk combination. Chroma Rush has a large clip size which means a longer time before you empty the clip and need to reload. Also more forgiving if you miss some shots.
Subsistence will keep reloading that clip if you keep killing enemies and Rampage allows you to kill those enemies with less ammo. Other weapons have smaller clip sizes so this perk combination isn’t as effective. This brings me to my next point.
Also, you will be able to use your energy slot for a different weapon. The energy slot has some of the best special weapons in the game.
It’s an auto rifle
This can roll on hand cannons and submachine guns but most effective on auto rifles. Larger magazine size. And Chroma Rush is a rapid-fire auto. When you do run out of ammo, you gain a faster reload. That’s on top of the good reload stat that it already has.
Farming Tips?
If you don’t have one already then I would suggest working on the Spicer Capitan’s Armory triumph. It unlocks the Prismatic Lens that allows you to get the Chroma Rush or Ignition Code at the Prismatic Recaster. Otherwise, you could use the lens that contains all the Season of the Splicer weapons but you’ll be dealing with a larger pool of weapons.
