Let me start off by saying that at this moment I believe there’s low key a scout rifle meta waiting to surface in PvP for Destiny 2. I have the same feeling about scout rifles now that I did with the Erentil FR4 way before people were talking about it. The way these things go is that someone uses it, pops a video up on YouTube and then everyone starts flying around the Crucible with it.
There are two scout rifles that I’ve been using lately and the Royal Chase is one of them. Can’t quite put my finger on what it is about this gun. It just feels right.
Maybe it’s a combination of the stats and hidden stats. Maybe it’s the perks that I have on it. Maybe it’s both.
Stats
It has 62 Impact. At base level the range, stability, handling and reload speed are all around the 40’s. As far as the important hidden stats, the aim assist is 63, recoil is 63 and bounce intensity is 37.
Perks
I have Extended Barrel for the barrel. This isn’t a barrel that people go after when looking for god rolls but for me it’s crucial. It controls recoil. I tried to take it off for the other barrel option I have on this gun and immediately felt the difference.
Next, I have Tactical Mag. Would prefer Steady Rounds for more stability but this mag does give me some stability. For the trait perk, I have No Distractions. This may be one of the reasons the gun feels so nice. Not having to deal with recoil allows for focus. For PvP, this is the best perk that you can get on it.
The last perk I have is thresh. Helps activate your super faster with kills. This gun also has the Precision Frame intrinsic trait. More control over recoil.
Maybe these perks and stats are why this gun feels good. Precision Frame with Extended Barrel and No Distractions allow me to focus more on hitting my shots and cuts out the other stuff. No worrying about flinch or recoil direction.
I also have to factor in the scout targeting armor mod and scout unflinching armor mod, but honestly I don’t think it would make too much of a difference with all the other perks on this weapon. You can also slap on a targeting adjustor.
I will definitely be trying to get one that has the same rolls but with steady rounds. The one I have has a reload master work, which is fine. I don’t feel the need for more range or stability on this weapon.

VGS-6: You still tracking that monster near Saturn?
PXC-0: Yes. Nil-1 is holding position directly over Titan. On mark… uh, 27 hours. Rotating off in three.
VGS-6: Long shift. You Praxic boys are cold. Regret your induction yet?
PXC-0: It’s not a problem. We don’t sleep.
VGS-6: Right.
[Dead air.]
VGS-6: I mean, you do sleep.
PXC-0: Negative.
VGS-6: Come on. I’ve met Guardians before.
PXC-0: We do not.
VGS-6: Don’t make me call in the Gunny.
PXC-0: Your Gunny would know better than to argue with the Order.
VGS-6: Okay, listen JEFF. You’re not THE Order. I don’t give a sh—
PXC-0: Quiet. Energy rev spooling from the target…
VGS-6: What? You said it was basically dead.
PXC-0: Basically… Verim, record this. Establish direct feed uplink with NavTAC.

PXC-0: (Breathing heavily) NavTAC, return. Link reads as established… NavTAC, return. Telemetric positioning pins us on the opposing side of Saturn. Displacement reads as roughly 470,000km. Titan is… Titan is gone. This doesn’t make any sense.
PXC-0: NavTAC. Vanguard Recon, come in. Tower actual? Harriet, are you out there?
