Ghost and dark types have a special place in my heart and this ghost horse is right up my alley. Spectrier is a new Pokemon that came with The Crown Tundra expansion for Pokemon Sword and Shield.
It is fast and a good special attacker especially with its ability (Grim Neigh) that increases its special attack every time it knocks out a Pokemon. A lot of Pokemon that came in with this expansion has extremely good stats but a shallow move pool to counter it, but that doesn’t in any way mean that Spectrier isn’t good. So with all that said, here is a good set up for Spectrier.
Nature: Timid
Keep that speed, won’t need attack so timid fits perfectly.
Item: Choice Specs
Compliment that high attack speed with Specs. It will also provide more power for non-stab moves that are good to have like mudshot.
Ev Spread
- 252 Sp. Atk
- 4 Sp. Def
- 252 Speed
Get that special attack and speed as high as possible.
Moves
- Shadow Ball
- Hex
- Will -O- Wisp
- Mud Shot
Shadow Ball will be your bread and butter move. Hex pairs well with Will O Wisp or if one of your mons set up toxic spikes. Mud Shot is for typing coverage. Mons that are weak to ground.
Keep in mind that you power up every time you knock out a Pokemon. That increases this Pokemon’s ability to become a sweeper.
