What is the Honorable Fighting System in For Honor? Well the other day I was playing Elimination in For Honor. The match started off normally and I defeated my opponent. Immediately after my fight, I proceeded to find my fellow teammates to help them out. I eventually found one fighting a Shugoki so I ran up and attack from behind.

We defeated him and I ran off to look for more teammates. I eventually found one fighting a warlord and I ambushed him with an onslaught of hacks and slashes.

We went on to win two more matches with me defeating my opponent and ganking the opponents my teammates were fighting. After the match ended, I received a message that said “no honor for you”. This led me to wonder if I did something wrong.

I was lucky enough to match again with the same guys in the next game. I once again defeated my opponent and ran to look for teammates. I found two of my teammates but only one was fighting and the other was waiting close by. I decided not to jump in and to wait next to my teammate. Another one of my teammates was still fighting his opponent somewhere else.

My teammate that was here fighting, however, ended up losing his bout. After the fight, the “good fight” text command was being spammed in the chat box by players on both teams. My teammate that was waiting by me proceeded to fight the opponent that had just executed my teammate that he defeated.

Dishonorable Fighting in For Honor

The moral of this story is that this group finds it very “dishonorable” to jump in while a battle is taken place. By all means, in a 4v4 game mode there is absolutely nothing wrong with team fighting, but it seems that players find victories won using their own strengths and skills more satisfying. Even things like pushing of ledges and into wall hazards are starting to be considered “dishonorable”.

I myself have grown fond of this idea. I’ve received friend request and nice messages from players for not jumping in 1v1 battles and waiting til after the fight was finished. I’ve also watched Twitch streamers play 2v2 game modes without jumping in their partners battle if they’ve finished off their opponent first. Like I said before, there is nothing wrong with team fighting but I guess this is the different between fighting and fighting with honor.
