Phantom Liberty: Get Ready for A New Ending and A Bunch of Side Content in this Massive Expansion

Some of you may still be upset that we’re not getting the multiple DLC’s that were promised (two DLC’s, if my memory serves me correctly). However, based on the information we’ve gathered so far and insights revealed during an interview with CD Projekt Red, it seems likely that they’re consolidating a lot of that content into one massive expansion. If you take that and pile it on top of all the improvements made to the game since its launch and add all the improvements that come with the expansion, we should be eating good this September.

New ending

As mentioned, CDPR revealed quite a bit during an interview with Wccftech. Careful to avoid spoilers, Gabe Amatangelo, Game Director and VP at CDPR, shed some light on the timeline of the Phantom Liberty expansion (PL). PL doesn’t take place at the end of the main story. It takes place somewhere around the introduction of the Voodoo Boys. Depending on your actions within your new situations and with the characters, you could unlock a new ending.

The scope of side content in Phantom Liberty

When asked if there will be a lot of new side content, his immediate reply was, “Oh my God. Yes, so much”. I found one of the things he said during his following explanation of the side content interesting. He said, ” The world is alive and you can intercept or interfere or they can just play out and there’s a bunch of new activities like this in the world.

This somewhat happens in the game now but I wonder if they expanded on it. Like will you see random high-speed police chases? More active muggings in alleyways?

In any case, he went on to say during his explanation:

There’s a bunch of different sort of side quests and side activities and I don’t know if we have enough time, but we created all these new things that other characters in the world do and it takes place with or without you.

So yeah, looks like Night City will be more “alive”. Looks as though we’ll have a ton to explore.
