Palworld: The 6 Best Early Game PALS to Catch

Let me guess, you picked up the trial version of Palworld thinking that you’d only try it out for the duration of the trial and then move on to something else; only to find yourself still playing several hours after purchasing the early game version. Now you’re here, searching for information to aid your journey into your new addiction. Don’t worry, it happened to me too!

There are some useful Pals available early in the game that you should get. Especially when building your first base. Grabbing these early on should help smooth over some of those early difficulties you’ll encounter during your journey.

Vixy

When you build up a Ranch inside your base, some Pals will be assigned to the Ranch. While inside, they will randomly dig up items. Vixy will dig up Pal Spheres (along with gold and arrows).

You’ll quickly find that crafting these gets annoying after a while since you’ll need to keep up with the materials to craft them. Vixy will help solve that problem. Just place it in your base with a Ranch, let some time pass, and go collect them.

It’s a good way to keep an inventory of Pal Spheres. The map below shows the area where you can find it. The area has the Small Settlement fast travel point.

Tanzee and/or Lifmunk

Tanzee and Lifmunk have a lot of work suitability (skills needed to do various things when building your base). They both have Planting, Handiwork, Lumbering, and Gathering, but Tanzee has Transporting while Lifmunk has Medicine Production. Therefore, placing either in your base will cover a lot of the jobs that need to be done.

They are not far from the plateau of Beginnings.

Eikthyrdeer

Not only does it look cool but Eikthyrdeer can be used as a mount when you reach and unlock it at technology level 12. It can double jump mid-air and has Lumbering level 2. Plus they’re a powerful addition to your combat team.

Chikipi

Your Pals will get hungry as they work on your base. When you put Chikipi inside a Ranch, it will drop eggs. Pals with gathering skills will pick up the eggs and take them to the Pal feeder and you won’t need to worry about feeding the Pals at the base.

Foxparks

Foxparks is my favorite early Pal. During the night, you will get cold and freeze unless you’re next to a campfire or have a torch (assuming you haven’t craft clothes yet). Foxparks will warm you up if you summon it and light up the area.

Foxparks will also cook food at the fire pit, light torches, and fire up the smelter at your base. You can also use it as a flamethrower if you unlock and craft the harness in the Technology tree. They are located around the beginning area.

Penking

You will need a water type for gardening. Not only will Penking solve this issue, but it comes with several other base skills too. You can get these by incubating a large damp egg at your base.

To unlock the egg incubator you need to unlock the Ancient Technology in the Technology tree. To get Ancient Technology points and the materials to craft the incubator itself, you’ll need to defeat bosses. The boss icon should be on your map in areas you’ve discovered.

I heard someone say that dungeons give Ancient Technology points as well, but I have yet to get one myself. Damp eggs can be found throughout the island.
