Capcom on this day has just released the time for the Monster Hunter Rise Demo. They also shared a video revealing new monsters and existing monsters making a return. Also, a new game mechanic, Wyvern Riding.
Wyvern Riding is a game mechanic that allows you to use your wirebug to take control of a monster. Once you take control of a monster, you can use it to attack another monster, move around or run it into a wall to damage it. You can’t ride it forever as there is a meter that runs down governing the amount of time you have to ride.
Monster Hunter Rise Demo Release Date
The Monster Hunter Rise Demo Release date will be January 7th (today for me) and will go on until February 1, 2021 at 9am est (6am PST). Nintendo switch and online access required.
Take control.

The demo will have four quest types available. Beginner, intermediate, basic training, and wyvern riding. All 14 weapon types will be available. The beginner and intermediate quests can be played solo but there’s also local and online play. The beginner quest has you fighting great Izuchi while the intermediate has you fighting Mizutsune.
I personally want to see how speedrunners utilize the Wyvern Riding mechanic. They’ll probably come up with the most efficient way of doing so. Also, it looks like we’ll use kite-looking things to travel. Like how Monster Hunter World had the wingdrakes.
Monster Hunter Rise release date is March 26, 2021. For more information, you can check out my post here. If you want a list of all monsters coming to the game, check out my post here. Follow me on Twitter for more Monster Hunter Rise information to come!
