With its release date around the corner (or already here if you are seeing this after launch) lets check out the list of all confirmed monsters in Monster Hunter World. So far there are 26 confirmed large monsters. Some of the monsters will appear later in DLC, which will be free.

Bird Wyverns

(Small to medium sized class that includes Flying Wyverns with slender bodies that are bipedal and, in some cases, either have wings or lack wings)

Brute Wyverns

(Wyverns that are adapted to complete life on land, even sometimes being called Theropods from greatly resembling some predatory dinosaurs)

Fanged Wyverns

(Fanged Beast-like Wyvern monsters that have highly developed limbs)

Flying Wyverns

(These Wyverns are known as “True Wyverns”. However, there are some Wyverns that are quadrupedal, operating their wingarms as forearms instead like Tigrex and Nargacuga)

Piscine Wyverns

(This class is made up of wyverns that have evolved to be specialized in swimming in just about anything and that lack the ability to fly)

Elder Dragons

(This class is made up of rare, elusive monsters that have lived eternally since ancient times, that are able to bring destruction to whole ecosystems)

There is also one additional unnamed Elder Dragon

This isn’t the complete roster, some we will explore once we’re in the game. There apparently is a leaked list but lets only focus on the confirmed ones. Monster Hunter World will release on January 26th for Xbox One and Playstation. PC will be released sometime in August.
