How to Increase Focus Fishing in Destiny 2- Season of the Deep
Focus Fishing.
How does it work?
Why isn’t my Focus Fishing Meter increasing?
These are the questions that you may ask yourself when it comes to fishing in Destiny 2. It’s simple once you get the hang of it. Allow me to guide you to victory (with a little luck from the RNG gods).
Fishing Hotspot
First, you need to check the Fishing Tackle in your inventory. At the bottom, it will tell you where the hotspot for fishing is. Make your way there.
You should see lots of other Guardians there. This is good because you want as many people as possible fishing in one spot. This is key to increasing the Focus Fishing meter quickly.
Don’t Fish Alone
The Focus Fishing meter increases whenever you or anyone else finds a legendary or exotic fish. This is why you don’t want to fish alone. Always aim for a Perfect Catch, as it increases your chance of a legendary or exotic fish.
Dunkin’ Exotic Fish
When you turn in an exotic fish to the H.E.L.M, you’ll get an exotic piece of armor (or should anyway. I only caught one so far). I’ve fished with a full meter and received a few legendary and/or exotic fish. So I assume that even with a full meter the drop rate is still low. Just higher than without it full.
And that’s about it
Two other things are realized during my time fishing. The first is that public events will interrupt your fishing and the meter will have been reset when you return. If you and others immediately return after finishing the public event, you’ll have more time to fill the meter.
The second thing is that Guardians really don’t like their fishing interrupted. We take our fishing seriously. Here’s how psycho we get when our fishing IS interrupted.
