Get this Legendary Sniper Rifle, Despondent Assassin, in Starfield

You will become the stuff of nightmares as you stalk down your opponents from afar with this legendary sniper rifle in Starfield. The Despondent Assassin is one of the few, if not the only, legendary snipers in the game. Obtaining this is simple and easy depending on your level.

During your time in Akila City, you’ll come across a disagreement between Davis Wilson and Keoni Alpin about the best way to protect the city. Talk to Davis and the Defensive Measures quest will begin.

Complete this, and you will begin the False Positives quest. After that quest, you’ll begin the Leader of the Pack quest that will reward the Despondent Assassin.

Despondent Assassin

Like other legendary weapons, the Despondent Assassin comes with three unique perks. First, it has a small chance of demoralizing a target you shoot. Next, you get a 15% damage increase while aiming. Lastly, you do 10% extra damage to human targets.

Though it’s not labeled as an Old Earth weapon, it has the same look as those styles of weapons. I came back to do this quest at a later time, but I believe this is one that you can do early into your playthrough. If you don’t have it yet, you may just need to venture through the city.
