Double Special Meta Build for Deep Dives in Destiny 2

I titled this build for Deep Dives but you can use it for other end-game activities. However, you would need to adjust for Modifiers. Titans and Warlocks just need to adjust this build for their subclass.

End-game activities are getting to the point where primary weapons feel too weak. So players are doing double special weapon builds. It increases your overall time to kill.

Of course, the biggest thing to worry about is ammo. I avoided these styles of builds for that reason. But after spending some time with mine, I find that it’s fairly manageable.

All you have to do is have a system that allows you to create special on-demand. There’s only one perk that makes double special builds even possible. And that is Special Finisher.

Special Finisher

Special Finisher generates Special ammo for the whole fireteam when you do a finisher. However, it requires you to collect 3 Armor Charges first. This means you’ll need things that generate Orbs of Power.

Other important mods

Elemental Charge

Bungie made it easier to generate Armor Charges when they added the Elemental Charge mod. It allows you to have a chance for an Armor Charge by collecting Firesprites, Ionic Traces, Stasis shards, Void Breaches, or destroying a Strand Tangle.

My goal with this build is to generate the 3 Armor Charges required for Special Finisher almost without thinking about it. So the more methods I have to get those Armor Charges, the better.

Stacks on Stacks

This further allows me to generate the 3 Armor Charges easily. When you pick up an Orb of Power, you get two Armor Charges instead of one. Stacks on Stacks with Elemental Charge make you worry less about generating those 3 Armor Charges. And in the heat of battle, you’ll be happy for it.

The rest of the build

The rest of the build consists of generating Motes and elemental shards. The build can be improved with higher-stat armor to increase stat points. Remember, this build works as long as you remember to generate special ammo.
