Destiny Update 2.4.0 is changing the world of Destiny as we know it. Vast amount of weapon changes will change the game in the Crucible and the changes to the activities will allow you more ways to grind for materials and glimmer. Below is an image of all the changes that are now live.

d-update

Whenever Bungie releases changes to the game this massive, I like to head over to Twitter with popcorn to watch the Destiny community give their opinions about the changes. Most of the time it feels like Bungie just threw a giant steak with A1 sauce in the middle of a lot of super-hungry tigers. I would imagine that Bungie brace themselves before releasing.

During my journey throughout Twitter, I noticed a lot of people talking about the change to the snipers, specifically the mid-high range impact family. A lot of people believed that the damage reduction, which will remove the ability to kill high armor guardians mid-super with a head shot, was unnecessary. Now in order to be able to do this, you will need to use a low rate of fire/high impact sniper (ex. black spindle). Some say that this was a bad idea because supers like the Stormcaller was already hard to hit. Others say that changes like this will slow down the Crucible game play.

The change that I like was the increase to ads flinching on snipers. A lot of people were able to still land head shots with snipers while aiming down the sight while being hit with bullets. This massively lowered the ability to successfully compete against a decent sniper user with a primary weapon.

Another change I like is for two of my favorite guns in the game… No Time to Explain and Dreg’s Promise. Dreg’s Promise received a slight damage buff. I feel like this is certainly a good choice because even though the last Dregs Promise change improved the weapon, I felt it lacked in damage vs other specials.

The changes to the Public Events should make people actually go out looking for those events. There are several websites, like destinypublicevents.com,that will show you the time and location of the next public event.

GHOST BULLETS

One rising issue in the Crucible, but not addressed in this update is the issue of Ghost Bullets. Ghost Bullets are shots that are placed on a target but somehow disappear after fired. To get a better understanding of what it looks likes, here’s a video from TripleWreck:

You can’t really be competitive in Destiny if the shots you take don’t hit what you are aiming at.

It will be interesting to see how the Crucible and how Destiny evolves with this Destiny Update. New guns will definitely began to shine and may become the new meta. What do you think? Leave a comment below.
