You find out a little bit of how destructive Banshee-44 was back in the day when he sends you on a quest to forge The Lament. This was a weapon he used to slaughter the Vex. Once you get your hands on it, you quickly realize why he was so destructive with it.

The Rev
This exotic sword is a sword with a chainsaw attached to it. Kinda reminds me of Gears of War and the Lancer. When holding the left trigger, you rev up the blade. This attack is called Banshee’s Wail. Once revved, you press R1 and R2 to do the light and heavy rev attacks.
Each slash hits multiple times and each attack gives you a stack of Banshee’s Wail. Additional stacks increase the damage and damage resistance of heavy attacks. Once you get down how to use this weapon system, that’s when the slaughtering begin.
Combos
The real power comes when you attack in a combo sequence. Rev up the weapon and attack with R1 three times. Then finish the combo with the R2 heavy attack. This does use sword energy so you will need to allow the sword to recharge. Just do regular un-revved sword attack in the mean time.
You also get health regeneration when doing damage. On top of all this, this sword’s rev attacks go through barriers. So you can bring it in Nightfall strikes that has Barrier Champions.
When you have several guardians attacking a boss with this weapon, it’s health just gets shredded. You’ll find yourself just deleting any enemies standing in your way.
