Destiny 2: How to Unlock Tier 7 Rewards in Deep Dives
Recently, I released a post that explains how to unlock a second chest during Deep Dive activities. The post provides instructions on unlocking the second chest. However, I believe it falls short in properly explaining the reward tier levels.
Today, I aim to simplify the explanation of tier rewards, particularly given our recent access to higher tier reward levels. I’ll also share a suggestion for solo players. Plus, I have a clip showing what type of rewards you’ll get if you reach tier 7.
How to Unlock Tier 7 Rewards in Deep Dives
We now know that there are 3 encounters in the Deep Dive activity. In my previous post, I explained how you and your fireteam must find the Toland wisp at the beginning of each encounter to invoke darkness. Once you find the Toland wisp, one of three types of side objectives will occur.
Two of the objectives will require you to destroy taken-style blights. There are two variations of this objective. The last objective type is where you stand on glowing spots on the ground.
You and your fireteam will need to complete whichever side objective spawn (destroying all blights or standing on all light spots). Keep in mind you are being timed and you still have to complete the main objective of the encounter. When you hear Xivu Arath’s voice, you have completed the side objective.
Pressure Trial
Once you complete both the main objective and the side objective, the Pressure Trial will begin. A challenging group of enemies for you to wipe out will spawn. Take them out and you will have increased your reward tier level.
Step and repeat this for all 3 encounters if you want to get up to tier 7. The reward tier level determines what type of rewards you get in the second chest after you defeat the boss. So you still need to complete the Deep Dive.
Rewards/Solo Players
These Deep Dive activities are a good way to get materials, exotics, and red border weapons. If you’re a solo player, I recommend going to the Bungie website and finding a fireteam. Until this knowledge gets widespread, the in-game matchmaking system will put you with someone that doesn’t know to invoke darkness for better rewards. Players on the website are specifically looking to unlock tier 7 rewards.
If you’re a Hunter and need a build, I plan to make a post showing mine. Feel free to use it. I run a double special weapon build. Titans and Warlocks can use it too. Just adjust it for your class.
