If you play PvP in Destiny 2, then you know that cheating has run rampant. Wallhacks, aimbots, unlimited supers, etc, these are the things players have to deal with inside the Crucible (and even in games like CoD Warzone). These cheats are absolutely destroying the player experience in more ways than you may be aware of; causing players to just move to other games.
Bungie fights back
Bungie’s attempts to put an end to it in the past were a bit on the light side. Previously, they went after Perfect Aim but only telling them that if they take down the cheats for Destiny 2 they won’t be sued. Perfect Aim complied, but they took those cheats and sold them.
It is now believed that those cheats were purchased by Ring-1, another site that makes cheats for various games. Now Bungie (and Ubisoft) have FILED a lawsuit against them. This should cut the head off the snake so to speak.
But snakes will still live after their head is cut off. I say this to say that even after Ring-1 is dealt with, the cheats will still be out there. And they probably will still function. This means that anyone who had them before Right-1 is dealt with may be able to still use them.
From here on, it would be up to whatever anti-cheat program is in place for Destiny 2 and those cheaters being reported/spotted. So it will take time to completely solve or reduce the issue of cheating in Destiny 2. Hopefully, the people who left because of this issue will forgive Bungie for not being aggressive enough sooner and will come back to Destiny 2.
