Thievul probably won’t be winning a spot on the list of high tier Pokemon, but he does look fox-like and I like foxes. It’s a special attacker stat wise so you’ll want special attack moves only.
Recommended ability: Steakout
Stakeout doubles the power of moves used against targets that have switched in this turn. This is actually a good ability since switching in and out Pokemon is a core part of battling. This ability allows you to take advantage of that.
Nature: Timid
Item: Choice Specs
greatly boosts the holder’s Special Attack but allows one move
EV Spread: 252 sp. atk| 4 sp.def| 252 Speed
You want to make sure that when you hit, you hit hard. Thievul doesn’t have the best defense so get those attack in and do some damage while you can. This is the reason why you want choice specs.
Moveset: Dark Pulse, Grass Knot, Psychic, Parting Shot
Dark pulse you want for attack stab. Grass Knot is there to check Pokemon like Tyranitar. Psychic allows you to check those fighting types, which Thievul is weak to.
Parting shot lowers the opponents attack and special attack, which is something that is useful in certain situations. You can also go U-Turn if you would prefer a damage switch out.
