5 Things I’d Like to See in Monster Hunter 6

Monster Hunter Rise has finally come to an end in terms of updates. As for when we will hear news on Monster Hunter 6, my guess is at the Tokyo Game Show in September. That is if they’re doing the same thing they did for Monster Hunter World.

Capcom has two teams working on Monster Hunter games. The last release for Monster Hunter World Iceborn was Fatalis in October 2020. Monster Hunter Rise was released in March 2021 but was first announced on September 17, 2020, during a Nintendo Direct Mini Partner Showcase.

Monster Hunter 6 Release Date Estimation

Generally, it takes them about four years to work on a Monster Hunter game. Therefore, an early to mid-2024 release would be a good guess. If they wanted to wait for an event to announce the next title (Monster Hunter 6 most likely will not be the official name), Tokyo Game Show would be a good time to do so.

There will be a new gimmick like in previous Monster Hunters. We had the clutch claw in Monster Hunter World and Wire Bug in Monster Hunter Rise. I can’t wait to see the new gimmick as well as other new things they bring with this next game.

However, while Monster Hunter World and Rise have introduced some welcome improvements and carried over certain features from their predecessors, there are still areas that I hope to see further enhanced or reintroduced from previous titles. Take, for instance, the training room, which saw significant improvements in Monster Hunter World and made its way into Rise. I anticipate that Capcom will continue this particular trend in the upcoming installment. With that said, let’s delve into five additional elements, both returning and new, that I’d like to see in the next Monster Hunter.

1. A New Weapon

It’s been a while since a new weapon was introduced. The last weapon was the Insect Glaive back in Monster Hunter 4. They could do a whip-like weapon, dual guns, or a fist-style weapon.

2. Mini-Games

The Steamworks was a nice mini-game introduction to Monster Hunter World. They could continue and expand upon that for the next game. Maybe mini-games for fishing.

3. More Secrets

One of my favorite things to do in Monster Hunter games is uncovering secrets out in the locales. Monster Hunter World had secret endemic life that only appeared during certain times of day at specific locations. Monster Hunter Rise had this as well in addition to all the relics you had to find. Hopefully, they expand upon this and give me a reason to explore the locales even more.

4. Home Decoration

I loved the home decorating in Monster Hunter World. Hopefully, they expand on this by giving us more customization options. Also, like in World, allow us to display our captured endemic life there too. I’d like it if they add a reason for Hunters to visit your home if you’re hosting a hunting party so they can check it out.

5. Mysteries and Lore

World had some interesting mysteries surrounding the lore. For example, it is hinted that the Guiding Lands may have been created by Zorah Magdaros after we repelled it from the Elders Recess. They don’t tell us this but we find the Guiding lands by following Nergigante, who always appears when we fight Zorah Magdaros. Also, you can find a skull of Zorah in the Guiding Lands. Additionally, the icon for the Guiding Lands is similar to the icon of Zorah Magdaros.

I will be covering the next Monster Hunter when it releases. I hope that you will subscribe to Hallowpeak Gaming, and follow me on Youtube or Twitter as I’d like to notify you when I have new information on it. If you’re playing World or Rise you may find information I have on those games useful.
