At this point Bungie has brought back a good number of weapons from Destiny 1; Thorn and The Last Word just to name a few. But of all the remaining weapons from Destiny 1 that they could choose from, 4 of them I believe rank high above the others in terms of uniqueness. Four weapons that really stood out in terms of appearance, function, and/or method you needed to follow in order to obtain it.

Looking at the future expansions, I would say that there’s a good chance we’ll get our hands on some of them again. Some of these weapons come from activities already confirmed to make a return in Destiny 2. Hopefully, they don’t change the perks on the weapons unless they absolutely need to.

Husk of the Pit/Necrochasm

Weapons from Destiny 1

This was one of the most memorable weapons that I got in Destiny 1 because of how long it took me to get. It was only obtained from killing a Blade of Crota. It took me over 200 kills to get it to drop, whereas some people got it after their second kill.

You had to use the gun to complete certain objectives and get certain materials to level it up to legendary. It can be upgraded to Eidolon Ally (legendary) by obtaining the “Cannibalism” talent which required certain hive kills. Then, you could upgrade it to an exotic weapon called Necrochasm using a Crux of Crota.

It was a fast-firing auto rifle. The Necrochasm’s perk was a triggered cursed thrall explosion with precision kills. Fast firing auto rifles was meta for a while sometime after its release in the Crucible so this would have served you well.

Vex Mythoclast

The Vault of Glass raid is making a return so my guess is that we’ll get our hands on this weapon again. This weapon was up there with the Gjallarhorn in terms of popularity. And it ruled the Crucible for a while.

It can only be obtained by killing Atheon in the Vault of Glass on hard mode. This gun fired like an auto rifle but it is actually a fusion rifle and was the only fusion rifle that could go in the primary weapon slot. The other unique feature about this gun was its design.

Touch of Malice

Weapons from Destiny 1

I think Bungie should add a new weapon tier into the game. I think that the weapon tier should be called Forbidden and should be higher or equal to the exotic tier. The first gun they should add to that category is the Touch of Malice.

This gun starts off shooting like a normal scout rifle. At the last bullet, however, it does double damage but drains some of your health. The thing is, that last bullet never goes away.

If you keep shooting the gun on the last bullet you’ll be able to keep shooting that last bullet. Your health will continue to drop but the bullet will still do double damage. Also, it will never completely kill you.

We would take that into the Oryx raid, have a warlock put down healing, and continue damaging Oryx with 6 double damage last shot Touch of Malice’s. It also has a perk that heals you with 3 rapid kills.

The other unique thing about this weapon is its design. It was different from all other guns.

Ice Breaker

Weapons from Destiny 1

Of all the weapons I mentioned in this post, this chainsaw-looking sniper is the one that I don’t think will make a return in Destiny 2. Ice Breaker regenerated its own ammo. A sniper rifle that regenerated its own ammo. I feel like Bungie eventually thought to themselves that releasing that weapon was a mistake.

But if they do bring it back, they will probably change the time that it regenerates ammo and make it longer. They made it even more difficult to find ammo without mods in Destiny 2. I’m sure they’ll be careful if they decide to bring this back.
