20 Changes Coming in Destiny 2 Season 22
Today in the mysterious world of Hallowpeak, we are talking about Season 22 in Destiny 2.
As season 22 of Destiny 2 draws near, now is the time for us to prepare. Knowing what’s coming in this next season could give us ideas on how we can do just that.
There are several changes coming. Changes to weapon zoom and range values, exotics, materials, and a host of other things. Let’s take a recap on the changes coming in Destiny 2 season 22.
Hand Cannon PvE Buff
Hand cannons have been struggling in pve for a while and are receiving a buff.
- 20% increase in damage to minor enemies
- 75% increased damage to major enemies
Change to Zoom and Range Across the Board
Several weapons are getting range buffs. For some weapon types, their range buff is minuscule compared to others. It may not seem as though, but the buffs to the range of some weapon types are an indirect nerf for other weapon types.
Here’s how to read these range values if you’re confused:
- Damage drop-off is the range you will do 100% damage before you start doing less damage because you are too far away from your target.
- The number on the left is the gun with 0 range stat
- The number on the right is the gun with 100 range stat
Let’s take the old base zoom. These are the values of the guns currently in the game. Let’s use the SMG range value and use the Immortal SMG as an example.
If you had an Immortal with 0 range, the damage drop-off will start at 12.6 meters. At 100 range the damage drop-off will start at 22.4 meters. Of course, the Rangefinder perk increases the damage drop-off range, hence the range numbers in the middle column.
*one meter is a little over 3 feet*
The new base ADS modifier tells how much of an increase in the range that weapon type is getting compared to the old base zoom. So if you look at hand cannons, they’re getting a range buff.
Nerf to Underpressure
The Underpressure perk is getting nerfed. This perk was really good for fusion rifles in pvp because it was always active due to you always starting with low special ammo.
Cloudstrike Nerf
The radius of the Lightning strike from headshots is decreased from 5m to 3.
Bow Buffs
Precision bow arrow velocity will be increased and lightweight bow velocity will be brought up to level.
Reprised Raid
An old raid from Destiny 1 or 2 will make a return. Rumor has it that it will be Crota’s end and the encounters within will be changed.
New PvP Map
A new Crucible map is coming and is said to be in the Vex network
Exotic Mission Rotator
Exotic Missions will rotate giving you the chance to get any exotic weapons you don’t have.
Ritual Loot Changes
Ritual engrams will drop more often at the end of ritual activities (strikes, Crucible, Gambit). Ritual weapon focusing will be immediately available.
New Ritual Weapons
Vendors of ritual activities will have ritual weapons.
- Crucible- Unending Tempest Stasis submachine gun
- Strikes- Luna Regolith III- Solar Sniper
- Gambit- Qua Xaphan V- Void machine gun
New Heavy Burst Hand Cannon Subfamily
This will be a new subfamily of hand cannons which means new weapons and most likely exotic weapons.
Return of Warden’s Law
This will be the first of the Heavy Burst hand cannons and has been reworked. The recoil will be different from the previous version.
Rotating Iron Banner Weapons
The Guiding Sight scout rifle and the Point of the Stag bow will return in Iron Banner.
Rotating and New Trials Weapons
Igneous Hammer 120rpm hand cannon and Cataphract GL3 Strand Heavy Grenade Launcher will be available in Trials.
Strand Ability Changes
Tangle will receive a cooldown reduction of 12 seconds from 15 seconds. Threadlings will get a PvE damage buff and Suspend will receive a nerf to uptime and duration.
Grenade Buffs
Underperforming grenades across all subclasses will receive an uptime buff.
Material Increases
Some materials are receiving a cap increase
- Ascendant Shards- 10 to 30
- Ascendant Alloy- 10 to 30
- Enhancement Prism- 50 to 100
Exotic Weapon Changes
Le Monarch is getting nerfed in PvP. Touch of Malice is receiving an unannounced buff. Other exotics will receive changes(unannounced).
Legendary Perk Tweaks
Bipod, Shoot to Loot, Under-Over and other legendary perks are getting unannounced tweaks.
Exotic Armor Balance
Some of the exotic armor will receive a balance update. It’s unknown what those will be at this moment.
We should receive more information as we get closer to August 22nd, which is the release of Season 22. We anticipate that the season will be about the resurrection of Savathuun. We also will get a Final Shape presentation on August 22nd.
