It has been a while since the first introduction of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, when we saw Rathalos fly over a large body of water before flying over a new icy locale we now know is Hoarfrost Reach. At the end of that trailer, they left us with a bit of a surprise. A black screen with glowing red eyes and a familiar roar.
As most fans guessed, its Nargacuga. Now, in this new trailer for Iceborne, they left us yet another. A roar that has haunted the dreams of many Monster Hunter veterans. The roar of Tigrex.
Who is Tigrex?
Tigrex are Flying Wyverns introduced in Monster Hunter Freedom 2 (this is where I jumped into the series). Its wings have evolved into forelegs, which allows it to run at very fast speeds. It has a roar that actually does damage if you’re close enough even with ear plugs.
Comparison
If you play both of these videos there is no doubt that these are the same ear splitting roars.
Tigrex weakness?
It is weak to thunder and dragon.
Of course, at this time none of this is confirmed. But we can be as sure that this is Tigrex as most of us were when we predicted Nargacuga was coming back before he was confirmed. It will be interesting to see what armors and weapons we will be able to craft from its parts.
If I had to guess, I would say he’s only available in Master Rank. New players will finally get to see why a lot of people wanted his return in Monster Hunter World even though he’s a dread to fight.
Update: Tigrex confirmed for Monster Hunter World Iceborne.
Capcom has released this new trailer with first Tigrex game play footage.
He doesn’t do any elemental attacks. He just uses brute force and fast relentless attacks so be on your guard. Monster Hunter World Iceborne is set to release on September 6th, 2019.
