Don't Ignore Ada-1's Research Weapon Frames

You probably took one of these research weapon frames from Ada. You probably wondered what this “augmented weapon” reward for completing the frame was. Then you did all the requirements needed to complete the frame.

Once you finished you turned it in, only to get a weapon that you’ve received 100 times before. You then probably said to yourself, “what’s the purpose of this”? After quickly inspecting it, you probably just threw it in your vault or dismantled it and never picked up one of these frames again.

If this isn’t something you did it was sure something that I did. This is until someone brought something to my attention. The reason why these are “augmented” is because they come with additional trait perks that you can switch between. Take these Bygones for example (ignore the masterwork traits of the top picture).

Not Augmented

This weapon only have 2 trait perks: Kill Clip and and Full Auto Trigger System.

Augmented

This Bygones has 3 trait perks; two of which you can switch between. You can first switch between Rampage or Kill Clip, then it has Outlaw.

This open up a lot of possibilities. You can search for rolls that will allow you to be optimum in both pvp and pve on one gun.

The weapon you receive will depend on the research weapon frames you pick up. There are frames called Dreaming City Arsenal, Gambit Arsenal, Vanguard Arsenal, Crucible Arsenal and Destination Arsenal. You will receive a random weapon from that specific pool, however, I believe the weapon is the same for everyone each week.

This allows you to farm for that god-roll weapon. So if you are, in-fact, looking for a god roll Bygones, you will need to pick up “Gambit Arsenal” research weapon frames.

If you’re wondering how to get black armory schematics, all you have to do is dismantle a Black Armory Weapon. You may not get them with every weapon dismantle but I received my first schematics after dismantling a Blast Furnace that I received from finishing a weapon frame. Use that information if it helps.
