When it comes to the fusion rifle game in Destiny 2, you’ll be hard-pressed to come up with a better legendary fusion rifle for PvE (and probably PvP) than the Plug One.1. It has all the benefits of using a fusion rifle in PvE, but the perk pool is what makes it stand out. It’s one of two weapons currently that can roll Reservoir Burst and the better one out of the two.
Reservoir Burst
Reservoir Burst makes it so that when the battery is full, your next burst deals additional damage and causes enemies to explode on death. Similar to Dragonfly or Firefly. This gives this weapon some serious crowd control.
The drawback of this perk is that it only works on the first shot of the magazine. This means that if your magazine has a max of 7 shots, it only works on that 7th shot. If you only have enough ammo for 6 shots in the magazine, it won’t work until you find more ammo.
Also, the perk increases your magazine size, which isn’t good. The lower your max magazine size, the more often you’ll be able to take advantage of this perk. Since this perk increases your magazine size, it lowers how often you can use this perk.
However, those are only small drawbacks. There are mods that will allow you to maintain your ammo supply and makes the increase of the magazine a non-issue. The only thing that you’ll need to worry about is the reload.
Reload Management
There are two ways you can go about managing the reload. Plug One.1 has a chance to roll with Feeding Frenzy. This perk increases reload speed for a short time with this weapon progressively with each rapid kill. With Reservoir Burst, getting rapid kills won’t be a problem.
You can also go about managing the reload by using a kinetic weapon that has Sympathetic Arsenal. With this perk, reloading after a final blow also reloads stowed weapons. This perk on bows is crazy good since bows reload after every shot and their reload speed is almost instant.
So if you use a bow, you can whip out the plug, hit enemies with the burst, switch back to the bow, get a kill and your Plug One.1 will be ready to go again. No reloading necessary. Just burst and bow (I think the burst and bow combo would be a good name for this).
Where to get the Plug One.1 Fusion Rifle in Destiny 2
You get a chance to get the Plug One.1 fusion rifle by doing Nightfalls when it’s the current weekly Nightfall weapon drop. You may need to farm Nightfalls to get one that drops with Reservoir Burst. If you get one with both Feeding Frenzy and Reservoir Burst, you’ll be good to go.
What about Null Composure?
Null Composure also drops with Reservoir Burst but it’s not as effective since Null Composure is rapid-fire. Rapid-fire weapons specialize in fast firing and deeper reserves but less damage. If you only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow (sorry). You want to make sure you get a kill on that Reservoir shot. Null Composer with its’ lower damage output has a higher chance of you not actually killing the target you’re aiming at.
Is it better that Loaded Question?
Between Plug One.1 and the Loaded Question, I think the Loaded Question is better because it came with Auto-Loading Holster. You didn’t need Sympathetic Arsenal or Feeding Frenzy. You burst then switch to whatever primary you wanted. Pair Loaded Question with Ace of Spades and you’d have bursts all over the place. Talk about some serious crowd control.
How about PvP?
As far as PvP goes, it may be the best due to the perk combinations you can get. I thought Erentil FR4 was still better but the Plug One.1 can roll with Quickdraw AND Backup Plan. Got a shotgunner running straight at you? No problem. Just switch and hit em’ with the almost no charge up burst fusion blast.
