The moment we all were hoping for. Just when the community was starting to think that Capcom was done with Monster Hunter World, they reveal the next Monster Hunter World Expansion. Monster Hunter World Iceborne will be coming as a paid expansion in Autumn 2019.
For the people who basically was introduced to the Monster Hunter franchise with World, this is how they usually do things. They release the base game. Then an upgraded version of that game roughly a year and some change later. This was the same with MH4 Ultimate, MH3 Ultimate, etc.
New Story
Yes we will get new story with this expansion. It will most likely be around the same size as the original story and we may meet a monster around the same scale as Zorah Magdaros. Maybe we will even see Alatreon, which have been rumored for some time now.
This expansion will most likely have new monsters that are completely new to the series. We should get a few new items, like hot drinks since this will take place on an ice/winter map. There are also speculation of other returning monsters like Nargacuga who had cool weapons and armor in the previous games and will test your skills.

G-Rank in Monster Hunter World
If you don’t know what G-Rank is, in previous games it consist of harder monsters that not only were stronger but also had new move sets and even a new appearance. The armor and weapons were completely different aesthetically and not slightly modified versions like the armor from Arch-Tempered monsters.
We got to see what looks to be new armor during the developer update. If you take a look at the woman, she seems to be wearing upgraded Anjanath armor. Some of the armor look like it could be from completely different monsters.
Again the release date for Monster Hunter World Iceborne is Autumn 2019. No official day just yet. When it is revealed, I will update this post. Happy Hunting!
