How to Spawn Gold Patrols and Why You Want Them in Destiny 2

For those who don’t know what gold patrols are, they are higher-tier patrols added in Destiny 2. The requirements to complete them will have you do things like hunt down a boss or get headshots of tough enemies. Completing them will net higher rewards than regular patrols.

Why Spawn Gold Patrols?

In the case of Lightfall, you’re guaranteed a Neomuna weapon for completing a gold patrol. This has a chance at being a deepsight (red border) weapon that will allow you to craft that weapon if you get enough patterns. So yeah, if you’re playing Lightfall and want to farm the patterns for the Neomuna weapons, this is the way.

How to Spawn Gold Patrols

There are two ways you can get gold patrols to spawn. The first way is to do all possible patrols in the area you are currently in until it shows up. The second way is to keep loading into the area until it shows up.

Gold Patrols Destiny 2

Yes, it can show up without you doing anything patrol related. So it’s possible to run into one even when you’re not looking for them. If there are no gold patrols around then doing patrols would be the manual override so to speak.

You’ll also get glimmer and a few other things that vary depending on what planet you’re on.

Update: Here’s the fastest way to get these gold patrols to spawn.
