During your exploration on Europa you may have came across a mechanism that allow you to download data key fragments. You also may have come across chest that need certain data keys to open them (short-term data key in this case). These are Smugglers Cache chest and all this is part of a mini puzzle that you have to solve and it’s fairly easy.
Data Key Fragments
First, download a data key fragment from one of the mechanism (I’ll just call it that for now). Once you do that you will have to run to two other mechanisms to download the data key fragment from it. They will be somewhere near your area and you can identify them by the beams of light that surround them.
You will be on a timer so move quickly. The timer will reset once you download the next data fragment. Once you collect them for a total of three, it will say “data key short-term” and you will be able to open the chest that requires the short-term data key.
At the time of writing this, my exploration of Europa was fairly new and I believe that I may have come across other types of data keys to open different chest. If so I will come back and update this.
