Here’s everything you need to know in Gambit Prime. If you want more information on the different gambit roles/armor and the new weapons, then check out this post.
Gambit Prime
First you will need a Weak Synthesizer. Don’t worry, you will pretty much get this by visiting the drifter soon as you drop in the tower and collect the bounty he gives you. Then just win your first Gambit Prime match. Afterwards, visit the drifter and he will give you the Weak Synthesizer.
Playing Gambit Prime is pretty much the same as Gambit but here’s some things you need to know:
- Sending more than one blocker to the enemy side drains motes from the enemy players.
- The Envoys now are spread out around the map. There are 3 of them Killing the envoys will spawn a well. The well will give you a damage multiplier called primeval slayer. You will stand in the well to damage the boss.
How the Gambit armor work
Prime Gambit daily bounties will give you Invader Synths. Winning may also give you these synths. These synths will allow you to take Weak Motes (corresponding to the gambit role you’re interested in getting armor for from the Reckoning) to place into your Weak Synthesizer.
These motes are a key to the Reckoning. If you succeed in the reckoning after inserting one of the synths in the weak synthesizer, your reward is one piece of Illicit Armor.
If that sounds confusing then let me give you an example:
Lets say I want to be a Sentry. I would complete the Gambit Prime Bounty that gives me a Sentry Synth once I complete that bounty.
I would then go to my weak synthesizer and create a weak sentry mote using that sentry synth.
I would then go to the Reckoning and dunk that weak sentry mote into the mote thingy near the haul. Then when I successfully complete a wave of the Reckoning, I will get rewarded a piece of Illicit Sentry Armor
The Reckoning
Here’s what you need to know about the Reckoning:
- You all must be 620
- There will be elemental Polarizations (arc, solar, void). Using the corresponding element will deal extra damage.
- A taken champion will eventually spawn. After you take him out, you will have completed that tier of the Reckoning and claim your armor.
- After completing the Reckoning, you get bounties from the drifter to upgrade your synthesizer. You can only hold one. They are specific to your role
Tip: You may want to give Riskrunner a go in this game mode.
Last Remarks
The armor will give you additional perks for when you play Gambit. There will be more tier levels of The Reckoning released in the later days if they are not all released by the time you read this article. You will continue to do these steps until you complete the armor sets you desire.
