Today players in the Destiny community flooded social media outlets with leaked news about Destiny 2. Some images appeared showing posters being created with Destiny 2 artwork. On those posters was the Destiny 2 Release Date for September 8. Could this be legit? Let’s look at some facts:
First, I should note that Destiny released on September 9 2014. With that said, we can tell that a Destiny game being released around this time in September is nothing new. Me personally, I wouldn’t suggest that they released it any later because of the flood of games that come during the holiday season.
Second, the minute people started seeing this on Twitter they begin asking members of Kotaku. Kotaku is a reliable source organization who speculations about release dates of Destiny in the past have been correct. Jason Schreier, news editor for Kotaku, confirmed that the posters were indeed real.
Jason later posted a tweet saying:
Bungie themselves did not yet confirm this, but tweets from Bungie and Deej seemed to try to take focus off this news and back on to Age of Triumph.
Some other details that we’ve pulled from the posters is that there will be a beta. The release of this beta is not yet known. Also, Destiny will continue to be a Playstation exclusive. This usually means that they will receive some content first before it is released on Xbox and PC (although pc release has not been confirmed as of yet).
I, personally, am excited about this Destiny 2 release date and am ready to take on the next Destiny adventure. From what I saw when Bungie showcased the new raid armor, Destiny 2 is going to be crazy. Destiny have been a crazy ride of trial and error for Bungie but they are starting to listen to the Destiny community feedback and becoming more creative.
