Best Moveset for Toxtricity in Pokemon Sword and Shield

Toxtricity is definitely one of the coolest Pokemons to come out for this generation. Its a Pokemon with very few weakness ( 4x weakness to ground so watch out) and lots of resistances. It has access to good moves too, like Toxic which is no longer a TM.

First thing you’ll notice about this Pokemon is its two forms; amped form and low key form.

Ability wise, they both have Punk Rock which gives you a 30 percent boost to sound-based moves and half the damage of sound-based moves used against this Pokemon. This will be the ability we use.

Their second ability and move they learn at level 52 (Shift Gear/Magnetic Flux) is where the difference comes in. Amped has Plus and Low Key has Minus. Both has Technician as the hidden ability. The nature is what determine if you will get the amped form or the low key form.

Toxel evolves into Toxtricity Amped Form if its Nature is Hardy, Brave, Adamant, Naughty, Docile, Impish, Lax, Hasty, Jolly, Naive, Rash, Sassy, or Quirky.
Toxel evolves into Toxtricity Low Key Form if its Nature is Lonely, Bold, Relaxed, Timid, Serious, Modest, Mild, Quiet, Bashful, Calm, Gentle, or Careful.

If you like one but the other has the nature you want, just use mints to change the nature after you pick which one you want.

Boomburst is a hard-hitting move and takes advantage of the ability of Punk Rock (30 percent boost).

Shift Gear increases speed 2 stages and attack 1 stage but ignore the attack increase since we will be using the throat spray item.

Sludge wave is your stab poison move.

Overdrive is your Punk Rock-boosted, stab electric move.

Item: Throat Spray

Throat spray is an item introduced in Pokemon Sword and Shield and increases your special attack by 1 stage when you use a sound based attack. So not only do you have Punk Rock boosting your sound based attacks, throat spray is also boosting your special for using it.

Pair this with the fact that you just used shift gear and you have potential to be a sweeper. If you use overdrive you are using a stab move that is also getting boosted by punk rock and throat spray.
