Endemic life in Monster Hunter Rise is different than endemic life in Monster Hunter World. In Monster Hunter World, they were collectibles you can put in your home. It was nice going out and looking for them. Some of them were so rare that it would take days of searching. That is if you didn’t stumble upon one by luck.
In Rise, they play more of a role in your hunt, providing buffs, debuffs, traps, etc. You pick them up and add them to your inventory. Each one does something different so you’ll have to try them all and figure out what each of them does. Fortunately, I plan to list them all here and tell you what their effect is.
Right now we only have access to the demo of Monster Hunter Rise. There should be more when the full game releases and I will update this post. So far they all look to only be used in-game. I’m not sure if you can collect any and add them to a home, like in Monster Hunter World.
Location
Most (if not all) endemic life can be found on the map when you press the plus button on the Nintendo Switch controller. There may be rare ones and they may not show up on the map but I must do further exploring to figure that out.
Stinkmink
These are used to draw a monster to you. Similar to a challenger mantle in Monster Hunter World.
Brewhare
A moss-covered rabbit that amplifies some items’ effects. This will take more testing to get more in-depth information on what it does but for now, we know that it amplifies potions and work for about four items.
Puppet Spider
The Puppet Spider spits a sticky web and allows you to get a Wyvern riding mount.
Trapbugs
These bugs have sharp horns and any monster that tramples them will flee temporarily. I believe they mean flinch or stagger because when I think about the word flee I think it means to leave the area. Similar to a stink bomb. Anyway, these remind me of spikes from Pokemon.
Wailnard
The Wailnard is used to call a monster to your location. This does not work in certain locations because there are some areas on the map that monsters don’t go to (as shown in the video). So be sure to be in an area where monsters are known to go.
Antidobra
These can be placed down and cure you of poison. It’s similar to the cleanse booster in Monster Hunter World.
Escuregot
Probably one of my favorites. You place it down and a green cloud mist will surround you. It’s basically like the health booster from Monster Hunter World.
Mudbeetle
Rolls up mud into a ball. The ball has water element and inflicts a monster with it when thrown on (waterblight). Softens a monsters’ hide. Similar to how you do with the clutch claw in World.
Snowbeetle
A beetle that rolls up snow. Slows a monster when hit with this (iceblight).
Thunderbeetle
A beetle that rolls up mud with thunder-infused monster hair. Inflicts thunderblight to a monster hit with this. Allows a monster to be stunned with any weapon. Doesn’t have to be a blunt weapon. Cutting weapons work as well when they have this blight.
Firebeetle
A beetle that rolls up lava rocks into balls. Throw the ball to engulf a target in flames (fireblight). Does tick damage.
Toads
These work similar to how they did in Monster Hunter World. Place them down and they will explode in a cloud that will do certain effects.
Blastoad
A toad that will explode.
Poisontoad
A toad that will cause poison.
So far that’s all the endemic life in Monster Hunter Rise. Again, I will update this post when the full game releases. There are more that we have not discovered. Also, some of these may not be in this area and may only be exclusive to other areas. They may have just put them in for the purpose of the demo.
I will have more Monster Hunter Rise information coming. Especially when the full game releases. Follow me on Twitter to get notified of any new posts.
