Destiny 2 Beta (What You Need to Know)

The destiny 2 beta will soon arrive. We will soon experience Destiny 2 for ourselves to see if it levels up to the hype we’ve obtained ever since it was first announced back in March. Let’s go over what you need to know to prepare for its arrival.

What’s in the Destiny 2 Beta?

The Story Mission that we saw at the E3 reveal, Homecoming, will be available to play.
The Destiny 2 Beta will allow us to try out 2 different classes from each class(6 subclasses). Each new subclass will be available. That means you will be able to play the Arcstrider, Sentinel and Dawnblade.
The Inverted Spire Strike
Countdown, the new pvp mode that was shown at the reveal.
Other mysteries and secrets to reveal that Bungie refuse to tell us about.

Destiny 2 Beta Access

The Destiny 2 beta will first come as a closed beta. This means that anyone who preordered Destiny 2 (on console) will be able to play first. After that it will soon turn into an open beta. This means that anyone, regardless of if you preordered, will be able to play.

If you are on PC, you will be able to play the beta at a later date.

How to Preorder

You can preorder Destiny 2 by going to your console market place and preorder there. If you do so, you will automatically have access to the beta when it arrives.

If you like to have a physical copy of your games (like me) then you can preorder at a game retailer (GameStop, etc). There you will be given a code on your receipt. You will then take that code and redeem to get your beta access at Bungie’s website.

Dates

If you preordered Destiny 2 on a PS4, your beta date will be on Tuesday July 18th, 1pm Eastern Time. That’s 10am PDT.

If you preordered Destiny 2 on a Xbox One, your beta date will be on Wednesday July 19th, 1pm Eastern Time. That’s 10am PDT. PS4 has the Destiny 2 exclusive so they will play a day early.

Open beta date will be on Friday July 21th, 1pm Eastern Time. That’s 10am PDT. This is for both Xbox and PS4.

The Beta will then end Sunday July 23. The time was not confirmed. Also, the Destiny 2 PC Beta will come in late August and will have separate times for people who preordered on PC and then everyone else. This also means that if you preorder Destiny 2 on both console and PC, you will have double access.

Also, on July 23 at 1Est, the Farm (our new social space) will open up for everyone to explore for 1 hour. You will be able to check out the area but some vendors will be unavailable.

Destiny 2 release date will be on Wednesday September 6th for consoles and Tuesday October 24th for PC.
